Terms of Reference

The Gold Medal is the highest award given by COMP and recognizes a currently active or retired medical physicist who has had an outstanding career and who has worked mainly in Canada.

1.  The Medal Committee reports to the COMP Executive.

2.  The Medal Committee is responsible for:

a.  Evaluating nominations for the COMP Gold Medal.

b.  Recommending the winning nomination to the COMP Executive.

3.  The COMP Executive is responsible for selecting the final winner.

4.  The Chair and the members of the Medal Commitee are appointed by the Chair of COMP.  The committee will consist of five members including the Chair.  At least two will be from imagin/diagnostics physics and at least two will be from therapy physics.
