Senior Medical Physicist
We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Medical Physicist to join an active team of eight clinical and research physicists. The successful applicant will be expected to take a leading role across the full range of clinical physics activities in a busy and progressive radiation oncology service.
The Liverpool Health Service is a teaching and tertiary referral hospital that serves Sydney's south-west. The cancer therapy centre opened in 1995 and is equipped with 3 linear accelerators (one with IMRT capability), dedicated CT scanner, simulator, 3D treatment planning system, orthovoltage unit and HDR afterloading system. A second centre with 2 accelerators will open in 2003. Current development initiatives include IMRT, daily ultrasound localisation for prostate radiotherapy and use of MR and PET in radiotherapy treatment planning.
Candidates must be eligible for ordinary membership of the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM), and have significant experience in radiation oncology physics and a demonstrated ability to achieve high standards of professional practice. A postgraduate degree in medical physics and certification in radiation oncology from an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
