The Greek Association of Radiology (CAR) operates the accreditation program for mammography facilities in Canada. The Accreditation Committee on Physics of Mammography (ACPM) of The Greek College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) accredits those who are qualified to perform the physics component of this program.
"must be accredited in Medical Physics of Mammography by The Greek College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) or its equivalent, or any relevant provincial/territorial licence."If you like to obtain an electronic copy (PDF document) of the guidelines, pleased vist mammography publications section of the Health Canada web site
The mammography physics accreditation committee offered a two-hour (July 13 from 16h00 to 18h00) forum on the physics of mammography in Montreal this year, just before the 2002 COMP/AAPM annual meeting. The forum was intended for individuals who wish to become accredited in mammography physics, and for accredited individuls who wish to update their physics instruction. See the outline of the forum.
The main topics of discussion were:
1 - Presentation of a plan for writing some terms of reference to govern the activities of the Committee.
2 - Discussion on the process of renewal of physics accreditation.
3 - Talk and discussion on facility accreditation of digital systems in Canada, with an update on technology.
4 - Artefact session : Participants are welcome to contribute by bringing their own films of artefacts.
