I am happy to introduce Ms. Nancy Barrett, the new executive director for both COMP and the CCPM, effective February 1, 2005. Nancy will be the chief administrative officer for both organizations. In addition to her administrative responsibilities Nancy will be our main contact with industry, with government and with other associations.

Nancy has more than 20 years of experience in industry, government and the association sector. For the past 8 years, Nancy has consulted to the not-for-profit sector, providing Executive Director services for three of her clients. Nancy is a partner with AMCES (Association Management, Consulting and Evaluation Services), located in Ottawa and is responsible for association management services provided by that organization.

Through both her consulting and volunteer work, Nancy has been directly involved in the development and implementation of organizational infrastructure including administrative, financial and membership systems. Nancy has worked with boards of directors to ensure proper governance and to design and implement volunteer committee structures.

Nancy has served as a board member for a variety of organizations including the National Capital Region Chapter of The Greek Society of Association Executives, where she currently co-chairs the membership committee and previously co-chaired the education committee. Nancy is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, and has recently completed the requirements to obtain a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.
